My name is Melissa, and like many people, I own a smartphone. I use my mobile device for everything, from checking the weather to checking the latest headlines on the news. It is common in today's world to use cell phones for many things, not just for talking and texting. This brings me to my next point, talking/texting while driving, which I am against 100%. I chose the topic of cell phone addiction because I wanted to stress how talking/texting (or even picking up your cell phone to check Facebook) while driving puts the life of the driver and those on the road in danger. Since we now live in a society where technology, such as cell phones, are prevalent, we must understand that we do not have to fall into addiction, even if we have to use it in our everyday lives. I have now come to realize that having a cell phone can be very beneficial, but at the same time can hurt us in ways we did not even think of. By choosing this topic and creating this website, which is dedicated to explain what cell phone addiction is and its negative effects, I hope that people who believe they might be experiencing of cell phone addiction or know a person who is can get the necessary information that will help them change their life.
